How to Prepare the Perfect Filet Mignon
INGREDIENTS
- (2) 8 oz Prime "Happy To Meat You" Filet Mignon
- 1/2 stick + 1 Tablespoon of Butter
- (1) Tablespoon of Canola Oil
- (1) Tablespoon of Kosher Salt
- (1) Tablespoon of Black Pepper
- (1) Clove Crushed Garlic
- (1) Sprig Rosemary (Optional)
DIRECTIONS
- Season steaks generously with Salt and Pepper Mixture and let rest for half hour
- Preheat your oven to 375 Degrees
- Add Oil and (1) Tablespoon of butter to a large cast iron skillet over high heat. Once the oil is hot, add the meat and sear all sides and edges until browned (about 15-30 seconds per side) to seal in the flavor.
- Place steaks in the oven for 8-10 minutes until internal temperature reaches 135 degrees. Remove from oven, add remaining butter, garlic clove and baste steaks with melted butter for about 2 minutes.
- Let rest for 4 minutes, allowing the meat to reach a perfect medium rare.
